"Headlights into the mist" (text representing Maja's first Solo Exhibition, Deloitte Denmark HQ)
This exhibition plays with our subconscious desire for structure and patterns. Moving from the purely abstract to underlying and governing patterns, to the explicit dominating shapes that pop out, the exhibition lets you experience an array of moods that can please or provoke. Each painting in the exhibition gives room for interpretation which is in line with the artists view that art should not be confined to the title of the piece but rather be shaped in the eye of the beholder.
The artist believes that Art in itself can be an experience which the viewer should explore. Her perspectives are shaped by growing up on a farm, summiting two continental peaks and working in the financial industry. Her conviction is that a piece of art is more than a painting on a wall. A painting can dominate a wall, marginalize a pillow, compliment a couch. Art can change the expression of its surroundings.
